My husband David became a quadriplegic at age 45 as a result of an automobile accident. His death, two weeks later in 1993, was the catalyst for my writing. I was widowed at age 40. Raw emotions filled my journal. Fear slept with me in the dark of night.
Listen for the Whispers: Coping with Grief & Learning to Live Again (Cable Publishing 2010) details the evolution of my ill-fated love story. Through my grief journey, I learned to listen to my inner voice, my whispers. Slowly, my confidence grew. Thankfully, my spirit was renewed.
Today, I live in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I enjoy my life as a published author, freelance writer and inspirational speaker. Retirement from my teaching career gives me the luxury of multiple weeks at the New Jersey shore, abundant hugs from my four grandchildren and more travel in the U.S. and abroad.
I am fortunate to have this opportunity to sit back, reflect and write about my joyful life.
