Twelve Days of Christmas: Sixth Day

In Lessons from a Small Town

my childhood Christmas pinafore

My mother and Nana were great bakers. I still use the Betty Crocker spritz cookie recipe for my Christmas butter cookies. One year Nana made Christmas pinafores for the four of us. She made them large enough to let down the hem as we grew through the years. When the holidays approached, they were washed, starched and ironed to perfection.

On the Sixth Day of Christmas my true love gave to me…

six cookie cutters,

three generations of cookie cutters

five…Christ…mas cards,

My favorite Burgess Christmas cards 1956,1957,1960,1961,1963

four vintage snowmen,

old fashioned snowmen candles purchased in 1990’s

three special balls,

David’s, Samantha’s and Richard’s ornaments

two wooden skis,

Kim’s wooden skis
( circa 1956)

and a Christmas plate for Santa’s midnight snack.

How are you doing? Are you keeping up?

Kim
