About
Kim Kluxen Meredith
My husband David became a quadriplegic at age 45 as a result of an automobile accident. His death, two weeks later in 1993, was the catalyst for my writing. I was widowed at age 40. Raw emotions filled my journal. Fear slept with me in the dark of night.
My first book, Listen for the Whispers: Coping with Grief and Learning to Live Again (2010), details the evolution of my ill-fated love story. Through my grief journey, I learned to listen to my inner voice, my whispers, and my confidence slowly grew.
My is second book, Ocean Whispers (2018) continues the theme of my whispers through my 42 seashell photographs and corresponding inspirational thoughts.
My third book, Henri’s Home (2020), is my first children’s fiction picture book. It is a tale of a hermit crab family and the unexpected adventure of one of its members. The exciting story is beautifully illustrated with original watercolor pictures by Lisa Madenspacher.
Today I live in Lancaster, Pennsylvania with my husband Tom. I enjoy my retired life as a published author, free-lance writer, and inspirational speaker. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to sit back in the heart of Amish country where I reflect and write about my joyful life.
Summer days in Ocean City, New Jersey with family and friends are cherished.
Annual August visits to my sister Christine’s cottage in Lake George, New York give me the chance to kayak as I listen to more whispers.
But, the best times are when I am able to gather abundant hugs from my children and grandchildren.
