Twelve Days of Christmas: Third Day

In Lessons from a Small Town

My Nana’s 1920’s ornament

Christmastime is full of memories. And so my tree reflects the presence of special people in my life. They are in my heart forever. The first ornament placed on my tree commemorates the birth of my late husband David in 1948. The next to go on is for my daughter Samantha’s birth in 1981. Finally there is my son Richard’s ball. Although his says 1986, he was born in 1983. (I am still working on that mystery!?)

“On the Third Day of Christmas my true love gave to me…

three special balls,

      David’s, Samantha’s and Richard’s  ornaments

two wooden skis,

       Kim’s wooden skis
           ( circa 1956)

and a Christmas plate for Santa’s midnight snack.

 1978 Christmas cookie plate

Three verses down, nine to go!
