I Want

I want an azure umbrella over my head every day.

I want puffy clouds—nature’s soft pause button—to give me time to think.

 

I want startling sunrises to start my day.

I want spectacular sunsets to put out the lights.

I want every speck of happiness to wash up on my shoreline.

I want lush vegetation to protect my dunes.

I want a watchful eye to guard my horizon.

I want a sand castle to house my dreams.

I want frothy waves of knowledge to ebb and flow in my head.

I want soft breezes to blow away all of my misfortune and pain.

I want it all.

After all, it is summer.

But I will settle for some.
