Thanksgiving Glad Game: Day #2
I am glad to perpetuate my mother’s tradition of organization and dedication to a well-set table.
In the upcoming days, and sometimes weeks, of a large family gathering, mom polished silver, ironed linens and washed china. I enjoyed helping her set the table in the dining room table. As I dug out the wax in the crystal candle sticks and unwrapped new tapers, I took note of her handiwork and superb organization.
In addition, I used to giggle at the tiny snips of paper in assorted serving dishes on the sideboard containing handwritten notes that would remind her of their future contents. Currently, I find myself using these visual reminders. I do what I know.
I am glad to be my mother’s daughter.
